Content management systems (CMS)
One of our key philosophies is to empower our customers with technology rather than make them a slave to it. As such, we develop all our sites using a bespoke AJAX content management system. These tools are integrated directly into our sites to enable you to quickly and easily update or amend content.
The main benefit of our tools over "out of the box" solutions is that with this solution you get exactly what you need, without compromise, and without a vast range of functionality you will never use. A key step in our developmental process is establishing exactly which CMS tools you are best suited to, and how these should be configured for your purposes.
Ongoing support
Complimenting these automated content management tools is our "pay as you go" support service. We don’t tie our customers into ongoing support contracts, we simply provide an hourly rate, and use a project management system to manage ongoing work. This creates the transparency that many of our clients seek when they come to us unhappy with their current web developers.
Using this approach our clients only ever use the time they need, and it’s always clear exactly what this time is for. Coupled with this our usual same day response time means clients are consistently impressed with the speed at which we deliver work, meaning they are confident in the knowledge we are always there should something need doing.
This service also backs up our automated content management tools. Many clients are under the impression that having the power to change every single function on the website themselves is the most cost effective and efficient means of updating their website. In some cases this is certainly true, however in others it isn’t. For example there may be aspects of your website which change once a year, but would require a bespoke CMS module costing hundreds of pounds. Paying hundreds of pounds for this module is most likely less cost efficient than us implementing the changes for you at the cost of a couple of hours work. Similarly with certain design rich layouts, content management can often get complex for the end user, especially when this is something they may only do once every few months. Often in these situations clients find it much more efficient to hand these changes over to us to implement as the specialists, leaving their employees to concentrate on what they are best at.
The result of the above systems is a balance between giving a client the tools they need to manage the website on a day to day basis, whilst at the same time backing this up with a hassle free support system which is always at their disposal.
