Who are we?

John Dillon - Director of AccuWeb

AccuWeb is a collective of creative and technical resources, spearheaded by myself John Dillon.

With 10+ years experience, I specialise in planning, managing, building and implementing web based projects of all sizes, using the latest technologies available.

I'm passionate about delivering a personal and responsive service, over the long term, helping clients consistently grow and develop.

What do we do, and how to we do it?

We specialise in building stylish and usable websites of all types, ranging from small brochure sites, to full blown ecommerce applications or online social networking communities. Our core strength lies in developing database driven websites, for example http://www.housingcare.org has over 100,000 pages, and regularly receives over 10,000 unique visitors per day.

Our clients range from large corporations, to public sector and not for profit organisations, to small/medium local enterprises.

We are a small company and proud of it, in fact we see it as one of our biggest strengths. We utilise partnerships with other companies and freelancers, to enable us to provide the full range of services of a top web design agency, without the expense and bureaucracy.

This allows us to provide:

  • A more personal, client focused, and long term approach.
    Big agencies tend to deal in projects, and once a project is finished, the client is often "out of sight out of mind". As websites are evolutionary systems needing ongoing input, over the long term the relationship between the client and the agency often breaks down, due to the agencies' lack of focus on the client.
    Our approach is very different, we value long term relationships and as a result many of our clients have been with us since the beginning. This approach has obvious mutual benefits for both parties, and the success of it is backed up by our high client retention rates.
  • A more cost effective solution.
    Our hourly/day rates on average tend to be at least 25% cheaper than the bigger companies. Coupled with our long term approach (i.e. so no expensive/time consuming shifting between providers over the years), many of our clients have reported saving 40-50% compared to their previous providers.
  • A more transparent and reactive service.
    One of the big costs and tension points for clients is often ongoing support, as a lot of companies tend to tie their clients into fixed term contracts, dealing in half days as their minimum support period for example.
    Our ongoing support system is a much simpler pay as you go method, based on a fixed hourly/daily rate, with a minimum of 15 minutes spend. So for example a client will email through a request, we will answer (generally within a few hours), providing an estimation of the time the job will take. Assuming the client agrees to proceed, we then implement (often the same day). Clients are then emailed a roundup each month, and billed periodically.
    We have found this support system very effective at creating a transparency of service, coupled with the reactivity that clients need. This is again borne out in our testimonials section.
  • A more flexible and diverse service.
    Requirements (priorities, design styles, technology etc...) and particularly budgets for a project can vary greatly between clients. During the early stages of a project an important part of our work is to match the most suitable resources to the project, and help the client prioritise this based on the budget. This ranges from picking the most suitable designer to match the style they are looking for (as opposed to simply proscribing a company style), to selecting the best people to take control of search engine optimisation. This last point is a good example of the benefits of this flexibility, as online marketing budgets and options vary massively in price. Some clients have £thousands to spend in highly competitive markets, and so need the best and are able to pay for it. Others simply want their site basically optimised. Therefore proscribing a single solution wouldn’t suit everyone.
    We therefore fit the most suitable resources around the project requirements and budget, as opposed to the other way round.
